I started this build before starting this section so it isn’t a ‘from the box’ report, but today I got the chance to apply some of the decals for XZ988 based in HMS Hermes during the 1982 Falklands conflict. The kit itself has been a great nostalgia trip in the fact that modelling a 1st generation Harrier has let me re-live all those days when I used to make the Airfix and Matchbox Harriers with the same looks and dimensions. It needed some work around the intakes and laser nose joins (as most GR3 kits probably do), but the look and feel of the overall result are ‘right’.

At last, I’ve found time to continue!!!!
All decals are now on so once the Decalfix has worked its magic all extra breakable parts such as wheels will be going on now, together with jet exhausts, air brake, and weapons.
